Veteran's Day 2021

Good afternoon! I just wanted to send out some reminders.
Conferences this afternoon from 2:30 - 7:00PM. We encourage 6-12 parents to bring their student(s) as well to meet with teachers! Tomorrow at 2:00 students will participate in Rutland's annual "Trunk-O-Treat" event, to celebrate Halloween. Then, at 6:30 PM we will be having our community meeting in the Rutland Gym to discuss where we're at in the consolidation process and to do our best to address/answer any questions you might have. ***Important note - We have decided to livestream this event vs. doing a Zoom meeting. Here is link to our livestream (I'll send out again tomorrow as well): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClRihbPOGQTfgewVTnSDf5Q?view_as=subscriber
Any questions can be asked in the "comments section" throughout the meeting, so, if you're unable to physically attend, we encourage you to jump onto our YouTube page. We hope you can attend!!

Two Reminders!!!!
1. Conferences are Thursday afternoon/evening from 2:30 - 7:00PM. Elementary conferences are scheduled and 6-12 teachers will be available in the gymnasium. Students will be dismissed from school at 2:00PM on Thursday.
2. A Community Consolidation Meeting will be held in Rutland on Friday evening (Oct. 29th) at 6:30, in the Rutland Gym. Please spread the word! It would be fantastic if we could fill the gym with community members, parents, and students wanting to learn more and help provide the district(s) with feedback (survey opportunity at the end of the presentation)...so please, bring a friend...or two (or many)! A Zoom link will be posted on FB and our school's website sometime on Friday afternoon if you aren't able to physically attend. Oldham-Ramona has their meetings scheduled for Saturday morning, 10/30.

Rutland and Oldham-Ramona community meetings will be held on the 29th and 30th of October. We invite you please spread the word and plan to come ask questions, learn more about the process/updates, and to take a brief survey at the end of the meeting! Thank you!

Hey Rutland friends and families! Many of you have seen our revamped website (https://www.rutland.k12.sd.us ... If not please check it out) BUT...Did you know that we now have an app!?!?!? Yes...yes we do!!!!!
Please go to the App Store or Google Store to download it for your iOS or Android device. It's a one-stop shop for information and instantaneous updates (like this message would notify you instantly if you're "opted in" to our app notifications...these push notifications will also help in conveying important information that might arise/Example: school closure or activity change). Please check it out, I think you'll find it of great value! Have a great rest of your day!

A big thank you to the National Guard for bringing in some inflatables for our summer AR reading incentive! Also, a big thanks to our senior boys for helping to set things up (they, of course, needed to make sure things worked ok too!).

Hello...We are posting this again. We, unfortunately, had no one offer to help and the Booster Club is really in need of your assistance. The organization does a number of great things for our student-athletes and for those involved in our extra-curricular programs (meals, supplies, etc.). We would really appreciate it if you could take some time to help assist in this area! Please contact Karen Trygstad (karen.trygstad@k12.sd.us or call her here at the school 605-586-4352) for more information or to get signed up. Thank you!

Good morning parents! The Booster Club is requesting volunteers to help at our two home football games this year! They are looking for help on Friday, August 27th and Friday, September 17th. Please reach out to Mrs. Karen Trygstad Karen.trygstad@k12.sd.us to sign up and offer to assist. As you can see, there are a number of opportunities still available. Thank you for your consideration and help!!

Good morning! KJAM Radio will be broadcasting the ORR football game this Friday (8/27) against De Smet.

Dear parents of ORR students grades K-6th grades:
The Rutland booster club and Raider Cheerleaders would like to invite your children to join the ORR Jr Raiders club! This club is designed to help promote school spirit and enthusiasm for the Raider athletics programs, including football, volleyball, cheer and boys and girls basketball! Jr. Raiders club is open to ORR students in grades K-6th.
The cost to join is only $20.00 and includes Raider gear and admission to three ORR sporting events!! Your child can choose their favorite sports and will have their names announced alongside some of their favorite varsity Raider players during starting line up at three home games, at their respective schools!! Due to Covid things make look a little different this year, but we will try our best to make each JR Raider feel as much a part of the team as we can while following the schools safety guidelines. To join Jr Raiders please fill out the form sent out via email and return it to the school or Amber Malisch by August 25th 2021. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me 695-7956, malischmom7@gmail.com. We will also be available and have sign up sheets at open house nights to answer any questions and help get kids signed up.
After the forms are turned in I will assign dates and get Raider gear handed out. Thank you for supporting us and allowing our school spirit to grow in such a fun way!!

Good afternoon, the Madison Soccer Association has sent out a message to local schools regarding registration. If you're interested in soccer through their organization please visit https://active.leagueone.com/Olr/Pages/Welcome.aspx?ClubId=12152
Thanks!

Just a reminder:
Find details about the K-5 Summer AR incentive below. Any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Merager. Jill.Merager@k12.sd.us 📚 ☀️
** Just a reminder that when it says students should be reading at their level, that means that they should be reading the same level of books that they were reading during the year. Their level doesn't always match their grade level. It is what is appropriate for their independent reading.
