ORR Parents and Students,
Please see the information below about the homecoming festivities after lunch in Ramona. The plan is to have the parade at 1:30 PM and then have the pep rally around 2:00 PM or shortly after the conclusion and cleanup of the parade. The pep rally will take place on the football field. With all that being said, we know the weather for Friday does not look overly pleasant. We will let everyone know by 11:00 AM on Friday if the parade is still a go. Regardless if the parade happens or not, Rutland students will still be coming over to Ramona for festivities in the gym and in classrooms followed by a pep rally in the gym. Once the pep rally is over, Rutland students will get on the bus and head back to the school. Information about picking up students or having them released from class is listed below:
Rutland Elementary, Junior High, and High School = If students would like to go home with their parents after the pep rally in Ramona, they will need to let Mrs. Weston in the office know by Friday at 10:00 AM. Checking out students early, still counts as an absence. Students that are not picked up by their parents, will take the bus home and report to their last period or homeroom class. Bus routes home will run on time.
· Varsity volleyball players and Junior high football players from Rutland will stay in Ramona where they will be supervised by a coach until it is time to get ready for their game or practice.
Seniors will be able to leave after the pep rally without the absence counting against them, but they will still need to check out with the office.
Oldham-Ramona Elementary and Junior High = If students would like to go home with their parents after the pep rally, they will need to let Mrs. Cox in the office know. Checking out students early, still counts as an absence. If they do not go home with their parents, they will report back to class and finish the day.
Oldham-Ramona High School = If students would like to leave after the pep rally, they can check out at the office with a parent or they can have the parent call the office and excuse them. Parents can only excuse their students. Students checking out early, will still be counted absent. All students will be returning to their eighth period class at the end of the day where they will take attendance.
Seniors will be able to leave after the pep rally without the absence counting against them, but they will still need to check out with the office.
Please call the school or email Mr. Johnson at: andrew.r.johnson@k12.sd.us, if you have questions about the activities after Friday.
Thank you.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024 Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Kings and Queens: Oldham-Ramona King Caden Hojer and Queen Alivia Bickett, with Rutland Queen Julia Trygstad and King Logan Trygstad!

Hello, here is a note from ORR’s principal, Mr. Johnson. Thank you!!!
Hello Rutland 6-12 Students, Parents, and Guardians,
I have received a few questions regarding class registration in Rutland for next year. Mr. Brosnahan and I finished a class schedule draft for next year and sent it to staff to double check. Once the class schedule is finalized, students will register with Mr. Brosnahan as they have done in the past. This will likely start the middle of next week. Students in grades 8-12 will bring home a sheet for parents to look at check over. This sheet will also ask for a parent signature. Our school counselor also has students fill out their personal learning plans as a secondary check to make sure the right classes are being taken. Please have the class registration sheets (students in grades 8-12) back to Mr. Brosnahan by May 16. Due to the timing and my learning curve of how Rutland does things, we will not be hosting a registration meeting. A meeting will be held next March or April for the new school year. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Brosnahan or myself at andrew.r.johnson@k12.sd.us. Thank you for patience and understanding. I look forward to working with everybody.
Have a great weekend!

State Testing for Rutland will begin next week. We are planning to spread the testing out over a number of days/weeks in hopes to not overload students with "testing." We would appreciate it if you could maybe speak to your child(ren) about the importance of state testing, and do your best to frame it in a positive light...Encouraging them to do their very best! The district does use state testing for different placement opportunities (for classes) as well as the data provided to help individualize instruction for students as they progress to the next grade...Additionally, students in 11th grade receive general acceptance to all state universities and technical institutions if they score proficient (3 or a 4) in both math and ELA. Let's continue to finish the year strong and have everyone do their very best! Thank you for your efforts and support with this!
